Botox® Cosmetic

Botox Cosmetic is the only approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet lines in adults.

How does Botox ® Cosmetic work?

Injecting Botox Cosmetic into the muscles that cause frown lines temporarily reduces the activity of those muscles. The result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines.

Botox Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your provider will inject these muscles with Botox Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

Some patients report that being injected with Botox Cosmetic feels like a pinch. Your provider may use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, your provider may apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.

You’ll look like yourself—only with less noticeable frown lines and crow’s feet

Return to Your Daily Routine

Treatment requires minimal downtime or recovery; in fact, it’s often called a lunchtime procedure. You’ll be able to go about your normal routine immediately after you leave your provider’s office.

Micro Botox

Micro (also known as meso or intradermal) Botox is a technique that was developed in recent years to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and in some cases even acne. In this procedure, Botox is highly diluted into a solution of skin-hydrating agents, and then injected in small doses into the dermis, the inner layer of your skin, in various places on the face and neck.

How Micro Botox Works

Micro Botox injections cause your sweat glands, as well as your sebaceous glands (which secrete an oil that can contribute to the development of acne), to shrink and atrophy; they also visibly reduce pore size. The result of these changes is skin that is smoother, clearer, and less oily.

Since the injections are made superficially instead of into the facial muscles, Micro Botox does not cause the loss of movement, the “frozen” effect, that regular Botox treatments can. Rather, Micro Botox works just underneath the surface of your skin to fill out the lines and wrinkles being targeted, leading to a translucent glow that makes your skin look healthy and more youthful

Micro Botox Treatment

Pam Sloop, FNP-C delivers Micro Botox using tiny needles to place the injections strategically in various locations on the face and neck, just below the skin's surface. Some patients find the procedure uncomfortable, but not extraordinarily so. Some patients experience erythema (redness of the skin) after treatment, which can last for around 72 hours afterward.

Course of treatment (number of visits required and their frequency) can vary from patient to patient, depending on factors such as skin quality and level of sun exposure between treatments.

When you minimize pores, this results in a smaller skin surface area. This stretches the skin out over the face, and causes an inadvertent facelift, known in our clinic as the Botox lift.

For optimal effect, we recommend that Micro Botox be done together with Fraxel, Laser 360 or IPL for the maximum results.
